Jefferson Elementary School Staff, parents, and community are committed to providing all students the opportunity to receive an engaging child-centered education that promotes positive social, emotional, and educational development.
Vision Statement
The Jefferson Elementary School Staff envisions a school that is clean, orderly, and a safe place where children are taught to respect themselves and others. Our school is an attractive, child-centered environment where student work is valued and visible. Students are taught to think, dream, speak correctly, communicate with others, become proficient writers, problem solvers, and appreciate a diverse society. High standards are set for academic achievement, social development, moral development, and self-evaluation.
Jefferson Elementary School is a community of learners, where dedicated personnel will provide the best services and interactive instruction. Teaching and learning will foster preparation for life. Accepting that it is impossible to know everything, we will focus on ways to find and retrieve information.
Our children emerge from elementary school as confident, eager to learn, well prepared students, ready to meet the challenges of the middle school experience.

1. All children are capable of learning.
2. Learning is maximized in a safe and orderly environment
3. Parents, Community members, teachers, and administrators, share in the responsibility for educating children.
4. Teachers are learners and must be supported in the process of improving and learning the skills to effectively teach all children.
5. Classrooms should be student and teacher facilitated, to enable students to engage in collaborative and individual efforts.
6. Teaching and learning must be constantly evaluated in order to make decisions about how the processes should be refined and improved.
7. Through the process of change and continuous improvement, we will prepare and nurture productive citizens for the twenty-first century.
