Primary Schools

The Gary Community School Corporation consists of 5 elementary schools throughout the city of Gary.

Each school offers a unique environment but all are committed to the development of their students. GCSC strives to turn today’s learners into tomorrow’s leaders who are ready to serve the world as global citizens. In addition to traditional, comprehensive education, GCSC elementary schools offer programs that encourage students to explore paths in visual and performing arts, college and career readiness, and STEM to prepare them for the next step in their academic career. 

Banneker at Marquette located in the Miller area provides an accelerated, enriched curriculum for academically advanced K-5 students. Its qualitatively unique approach to teaching takes into account the special learning styles and motivational characteristics of high-ability students.

Daniel Hale Williams Elementary located on the East Side of Gary provides a safe, family, and community-oriented school dedicated to providing an equitable, culturally responsive, and academically-rigorous education to all learners.  

Glen Park Academy on the south end of the Glen Park area offers a rich educational experience of the highest quality that focuses on College and Career Readiness Standards through a rigorous curriculum. 

Frankie Woods McCullough Academy located on the west side of Gary serves students in grades K-5 and offers STEM Scouts Programs.

Beveridge Elementary School is located in the center of the district, offering a rigorous curriculum for K-5 students and strives to introduce bright young minds to endless possibilities.
