Bethune is excited to announce its upcoming Family Literacy Night, taking place on Wednesday, November 5, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is designed to bring families together in celebration of reading, creativity, and community connection.
Themed “Down on the Farm,” Family Literacy Night will feature a variety of interactive stations, including the Reading Coop, Craft Corn-er, Book Barn, and Farmer’s Market. Families will have the opportunity to explore each area and engage in hands-on literacy and learning activities.
The Gary Literacy Coalition will partner with the school to provide free books for every student, family, and classroom teacher in attendance. This collaboration underscores the shared commitment to promoting literacy and lifelong learning within the community.
Adding to the fun, Calvin the Cougar will make a special appearance to greet students, pose for photos, and inspire school spirit throughout the evening.
“I am so happy to be here and grateful for the warm welcome,” said [Your Name], the school’s new F.A.C.E. Specialist. “Events like Family Literacy Night give us the opportunity to strengthen our school-family partnerships while creating meaningful moments centered around reading and learning.”
All families and community members are invited to attend and join in an evening of fun, family, and literacy.
