(Gary, IND) – The Gary Community School Corporation proudly announces that three student-athletes from West Side Leadership Academy have advanced to the 2025-26 Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Boys Wrestling Regional Tournament after strong performances at the sectional level.
Competing at the IHSAA sectional tournament on January 31, 2026, West Side Leadership Academy sent several wrestlers to the mat, and three emerged as regional qualifiers by finishing among the top four in their respective weight classes — the standard required for advancement under IHSAA tournament rules.
Regional Qualifiers from West Side Leadership Academy:
Dante Heard – 175-pound Sectional Champion
Caveion Boose – Advanced
Kamari Loggins – Advanced
“We are extremely proud of Dante, Caveion, and Kamari for their dedication, work ethic, and competitive spirit,” said Hank Kilander, Athletic Director at West Side Leadership Academy. “Their achievement reflects not only individual skill but also the strength of our wrestling program and the support of our coaching staff and school community.”
The next step for these student-athletes is the IHSAA Regional Tournament on February 7, 2026, where they will compete against other sectional qualifiers from across Indiana for a chance to advance further in the state tournament series.
The IHSAA Regional Tournament represents a highly competitive stage of the boys wrestling postseason, bringing together top performers from sectional events statewide. Athletes placing among the top positions at regionals will move on to the Semi-State and ultimately the State Finals in Indianapolis later this winter.
