Gary Community School Corporation Promotes Literacy and Celebrates Black History with Monthly Book Giveaway Event
 
(Gary, IND) – The Gary Community School Corporation is proud to announce the January Roar for Reading book giveaway event, promoting literacy for its scholars. This month’s event will take place on Thursday, January 25th, from 4:00pm-6:00pm. The event will be held at Daniel Hale Williams Elementary School and is open to all GCSC students from pre-K to 12th grade.  
 

This month’s book giveaway will spotlight inspiring and educational Black History titles, perfectly timed to coincide with the upcoming Black History Month celebrations.

The Roar for Reading program aims to encourage a love for reading and provide access to diverse literature for students. The entire community is invited to attend.
 
“We are thrilled to continue our Roar for Reading initiative with a special focus on Black History Month. Our goal is to foster a lifelong love for reading and learning among our scholars while celebrating the rich history and contributions of the Black community,” said Dr. Esther Goodes, Chief of Schools of the Gary Community School Corporation.
